Starting January 2018, the Zagster bike sharing system in Port Huron will be closed until the spring.
About 300 different people have taken nearly 1,000 rides since the bike-sharing program went active in July.
Zagster plans on returning their bikes around the end of March. In the meantime, bikes will be stored off of city streets. Over the Winter, each bike will be overhauled by Alpine Cycles.
Zagster will work with city officials to ask the community how best to improve and expand the program next season. If you are interested in sponsoring a future ride-share, contact the City of Port Huron.
There are currently 20 bikes spread across 4 stations in downtown Port Huron.
