Choosing bicycles for children can be difficult. If you are spending your hard earned dollars, you want to make sure that the bike is not only right for your kid, you also want to be sure that they have room to grow into their bike. Below is our brief overview of what styles of children's bikes are available. Stop in anytime and we will help fit your kid to the best bike for them to learn and grow with. If you'd rather try to surprise them, knowing the inseam of their leg, as well as the circumference of their heads, will be enough information to fit them for a bike and helmet.

Balance Bikes

Balance bikes offer children the unique opportunity to acquire important skills early on in development. These pedal-less bikes allow children as young as 18 months to learn to glide around, using there feet to propel them. With this practice, they will develop skills like counter steering and natural balance.

Pre-Schoolers

Children entering this stage are in a period of significant motor skill development. Inspire confidence in your young rider, while also teaching them how to stay safe. Features such as training wheels and pedal brakes allow for a smoother transition into more advanced cycling.

Adolescents

Adolescent bikes are the last step before adult bikes. For this reason, many of the bikes are designed to introduce younger riders into features offered on traditional cycles. Introduction to shifters, as well as hand brakes, are common at this level. Give your child the opportunity to explore what cycling styles they enjoy most!
